Conference Registration Information (Sent Nov.26, 2013)
Below is the information regarding registration for the 2013 TN HOSA Regional Conferences. After carefully reviewing the information specific to your region, as well as reviewing the online testing guidelines, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Conference Dates & Locations
Upper East TN: Tuesday, Feb.1, 2013 Carson Newman College (Jefferson City, TN)
Lower East TN: Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2013 Roane State Community College (Harriman, TN)
West TN: Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 Union University (Jackson, TN)
Your chapter must be affiliated in order to compete at Regional Conference. Chapter affiliation is online at http://hosa.org/node/20. Under the "Advisor" menu, you should select "Local Advisors" and follow the directions for online affiliation. Please read all instructions carefully on the membership website and mail your affiliation check directly to National HOSA. Please contact Amanda Hodges for your system login information.
Please read the event rules and general rules prior to competition and make sure your student reads them and reviews the rules and rubric.
Regional Conference registration is now open and will only be accepted online at http://hosa.org/node/20. Each chapter advisor will be given a username and password for the chapter to use. Please send your check to the Tennessee HOSA office in Nashville (address is listed at the end of this document). The registration fee for students, advisors, and other attendees is $5.00. All payments must be received before the conference. Membership must be completed through National HOSA before your school will be permitted to access the conference registration system to
register for TN HOSA conferences. Please allow plenty of time for your affiliation to be processed prior to the registration deadline as, it can take several days for your chapter to be added to the conference registration system after your submit your affiliation. No late registrations will be accepted.
Online testing will be used for the following events:
Biomedical Debate CERT Skills CPR/First Aid Creative Problem Solving Dental Spelling Emergency Medical Technician Forensic Medicine HOSA Bowl Medical Reading Medical Spelling Nursing Assisting Physical Therapy Sports Medicine Veterinary Science
Online testing will be open for all regions on Nov. 26, 2012 and will close on Jan. 7, 2013. Please remember that once a student takes a test you will be responsible for their registration fee. Once a student has taken a test you may not replace that competitor in that event.
You must use a test proctor to administer all tests. In order to get login information for your students to test, please send Jeff Koeninger an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
School Name Chapter # Proctor name (first and last) Proctor email address (please double check email address)
If your proctor has not received their information a week before the test date, please check with Jeff. Do not wait until the last minute.
Medical Release Forms
Please complete a medical release and permission form for everyone who will be attending the conference. The lead advisor is to bring these forms to the conference. Do not send release forms to the HOSA State Advisor. (Forms are avaliable here.)
All advisors, chaperones, parents, students, and visitors are expected to follow the prescribed dress code set forth by National HOSA . There are different requirements for each event, so please pay close attention to the specific events in which your students will compete and advise them accordingly.
Upper East- Tickets will be available for purchase onsite through Aramark. Tickets will be $7 for all participants.
Lower East- Conference attendees can purchase lunch on campus. It is recommended that you advise your students to bring cash to buy their lunch.
Middle- Conference attendees can purchase lunch on campus in the new University Center. It is recommended that you advise your students to bring cash to buy their lunch.
West- Lunch tickets will be available for purchase during online registrationonsite.
State Officer Candidates
All State Officer Candidates will take their candidate tests at their regional conference. Please be sure to select "State Officer Candidate" during registration for those students. Only students who have submitted a completed application to Amanda Hodges, State Advisor, on or before Dec. 31, 2012 will be allowed to take the test.
Each school may register up to three students to serve as members of the Courtesy Corps. These students must be registered for the conference. Dress code for these students is blue or black suit or official HOSA attire.
Payments – Due Jan.9, 2013
After submitting the chapter registration, please print the invoice and give it to the school bookkeeper. This will be the only verification of registration. Regional conference fees will be accepted by school check only. No checks will be accepted onsite.Please mail at conference registration fees to:
