2017-18 Competitive Event Updates

Each year, Tennessee HOSA strives to align the competitive events as close as possible to National HOSA competitive event guidelines and expectations. As such, students competing in Health Career Photography and Researched Persuasive Speaking and Writing will see small changes in their events this year.
HEALTH CAREER PHOTOGRAPHY
Students competing in Health Career Photography will submit their portfolio at their respective regional conference for round one judging. Students who qualify in round one at their respective regional conference will compete in round two at the state leadership conference.
RESEARCHED PERSUASIVE SPEAKING AND WRITING
Students competing in Researched Persuasive Writing and Speaking will submit their research paper at their respective regional conference for round one judging. Students who qualify in round one at their respective regional conference will compete in round two at the state leadership conference.
STEM PREMIER
STEM Premier will not be used for any Tennessee HOSA competitive event submissions for regional conferences or the State Leadership Conference. Tennessee HSOA's academic award and state officer candidate applications will be submitted through STEM Premier.
STEM Premier will be used for the International Leadership Conference in June 2018.
