“No matter where life takes me, find me with a smile” — Mac Miller
In every step of my HOSA journey, I have always seemed to find a better understanding of myself and the world around me. The four core values of HOSA–Future Health Professionals– continuously reminds me of who I am, where I came from, and where I want to be. As a 5-year HOSA member, I have grown quite fond of what it means to learn, lead, serve, and innovate. I started my journey by competing in Biomedical Debate, and then CPR / First Aid. I joined chapter leadership and began to gain a better understanding of my favorite core value, serve. I had someone tell me at the beginning of my journey, “Always do what you love, because if you don’t, you’ll look back one day and realize all the opportunities that you missed.” After hearing this, I became a Chapter Officer, learning what it means to serve others, eventually leading to me becoming a State Officer with a dream to help create a welcoming environment where all HOSA members can experience the same love and joy that I do. While attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga this year, I wish to help Tennessee HOSA enrich our membership engagement, show others what it means to be a servant leader, and help our members understand what it means to be a Future Health Professional. |
